As a Hobie Fishing Team member, I'm proud to provide all charter guests with industry-leading, American-made Hobie Compass fishing kayaks utilizing the revolutionary Mirage pedal drive system. In addition, all fishing gear, rods, bait and tackle along with PFDs and safety gear is provided for all anglers. Children and young adults school-age and above are welcome (under 13 with a parent) is welcome to participate, no experience required.
From the first-time kayaker to the seasoned bass kayak angler, Topwater Kayak Charters has what it takes to guide you to success from whatever your starting point. Topwater launch locations vary as we chase the best action balanced with customer experience and seasonal boat traffic. Our schedule for 2023 features launch locations that access the waters of: Bulls Bay/Cape Romain Wildlife Refuge, the upper Wando River, IOP and Sullivan's Island, the Santee River, as well as YOUR neighborhood/private access. Our charters ideally suited for up to 2 guests. However, we can accommodate up to 4-6 guests but require the services of an additional guide(s). Standard-offering group trips of 4 or more run $125 per person for 4+ hours with everything included. Call or text 843-906-7112 for all inquiries for parties of 3 or more (cannot be booked online). Inshore Kayak Fishing
Topwater's bread and butter fishing excursion--we are known for putting our customers on quality South Carolina redfish (and more!) and this is the trip to do it on! Explore and fish the Lowcountry waterways proclaimed among the best in a comfortable Hobie Mirage pedal kayak. Your trip will take you through the tidal creeks, marshes, and bays located in and around Charleston and Bulls Bay. This trip is suitable for all ages and abilities, including novice kayakers and anglers as well as children.
All gear is provided including top-of-the-line kayaks, safety equipment, fishing gear, bait/tackle. Anglers will meet at pre-determined launch location as agreed upon with guide. This trip is available year-round and targets inshore species that can vary by season. Representative catches include: redfish, speckled seatrout, flounder, black drum, and sheepshead. Kayak Big Game Fishing
Catch bull redfish, sharks and big rays with light tackle on kayaks! Limited seasonal availability, mid-April to early July.
Experience the adrenaline rush of battling the biggest redfish and 2-6 foot sharks, manta rays, and more drag screaming, upper food chain predators in a kayak! This is the biggest fish and best action and 4 hours is plenty of time for anglers to get tired out fighting 40-inch plus redfish, local specialty bonnethead sharks, cownose and manta rays and more! Kayaks, gear, and bait are provided along with PFD and safety gear. This is one trip you'll be telling everyone about for years to come. Santee River Basin Freshwater
Bowfin fishing is an absolute BLAST and Topwater Kayak Charters lead the way in making these ancient fish one of the fastest growing segments of tournament kayak fishing! Along the way, see alligators, feral hogs, snakes, fox squirrels, bobcat, swallow-tail kite, eagles, owls, and many other fascinating creatures that inhabit the edges of our low-lying swamp lands. This excursion kayaks deep into an oxbow lake and surrounding ancient cypress swamps to immerse participants in the daily life of this amazing ecosystem. After exploring the surface level and above, this adventure also includes swamp fishing, an adventure all its own. Teeming with life both new and ancient, this flooded timber holds largemouth bass, huge Santee catfish, long-nose gar, jackfish/pickerel, bream, perch, and bowfin (mudfish). Swamp fishing is an off the beaten path adventure and on excursion not to miss! (Valid SC Freshwater Fishing License is required).
